        Out of School Children (OOSC) group mainly includes the children of age between 5-14 years who have NEVER been enrolled at school due to non-availability of schools in their habitations, children who could not enroll or got dropped out because of migration of family in search of work, children who discontinue studies because of family trade, household chores and also look after their younger siblings.
        OOSC group also include the children of urban areas who are living in slums, on the streets, on railway platforms and children working as domestic help, working in shops etc. who do not get enrolled or get dropped.
        To facilitate the mainstreaming as per the specific requirements of the individual child, the government runs following type of institutions (click to view the details):
Residential Bridge Courses (RBC), Non-Residential Bridge Courses NRBC), Human Development Centers (HDC), Platform Schools

Mainstreaming of OOSC with diverse conditions and differing needs is a challenging task. The need evolving and implementing suitable models of non formal education programme for OOSC has also been highlighted by National Policy. The online system facilitates the automation of various processes involved in the identification of the OOSC, their registration and efforts being made for their enrollment and mainstreaming.
After the registration, the OOSC are admitted in any of the folllowing institutions that is appropriate for the child The portal also facilitates the Citizen to register online any OOSC with in their locality and work area. Online availability centralized database of the profiles of OOSC and monthly updation of their enrollment and efforts being made by the concerned for their personalized follow-up and mainstreaming of the child has helped in improving the quality of the services being rendered to OOSC and proper and transparent utilization of the budget and resource. Presently, 1.6 lac children are being monitored, tracked and facilitated using the portal. The portal has also brought transparency in the operations and management of the institutions being run for the mainstreaming activities.
